Obituary for Helen Vayansky (Muia)

Helen Vayansky, 93 of Donora, PA died on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Vincentian Home in the North Hills of Pittsburgh with her loving family by her side.

She was born Sunday, September 19, 1920 in Donora the daughter of the late Dominic and Mary (Prestia) Muia.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Vayansky in 1989; and a son, Michael E. Vayansky.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas (Lois) Vayansky of Belle Vernon and Ronald (Sally) Vayansky of West Newton; a daughter-in-law, Ann Vayansky of Mansfield, PA; two sisters, Louise Vitale and Rosemary (Joe) Reo both of Donora; also seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and special friends Karen Esherbaugh, Mary Ann Librich and Amy and Paul Seery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 www.massafrafuneralhome.com

Prayers will be recited on Monday April 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home followed by a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Valley Church located at 1 Park Manor Road and Second Street Extension Donora, Pennsylvania 15033 with the Rev. Fr. Pierre M Falkenhan as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela, PA.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Vincentian Home, where she was lovingly cared for by all her aides especially Heide and Bernadette.

The family suggests that memorial contributions in Helen's name may be made to Our lady of the Valley Church, Donora, PA..
