Obituary for Edwin L. O'Neil
Edwin L. O'Neil, 78 of Donora, PA died on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at his home with his loving family at his side.
He was born Friday, September 20, 1935 in Stockdale, PA the son of the late Willis and Leona (Simon) O'Neil.
Ed retired from Greyhound Buslines where he was a Bus Driver for many years.
He was a Veteran of Korea serving with the United States Marine Corp.
Ed was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Donora, the Donora Knights of Columbus, the Donora American Legion, the Washington County Marine Corp League Chapter 1138 and the Transit Union where he had served as secretary and vice president for many years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Povrzenich) O'Neil on November 5, 2006; and a sister, Viola "Kay" Otley.
Surviving are son, Edwin O'Neil Jr. of Donora, PA; a brother, Willis F. O'Neil Jr. of N. Huntingdon, PA; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Carroll Twp. / Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 www.massafrafuneralhome.com where funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday April 12, 2014 with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Donora, PA.
