Obituary for Mario Frank Fazzini

After living a long and fulfilling life, Mario Frank Fazzini passed away 10 days short of his 95th birthday, on March 19, 2023.

Mario was born in Donora, PA, to Italian immigrants, the late Frank and late Emidola (Damiani) Fazzini.
He adored and loved his brother Bernard Fazzini, who also preceded him in death.

He loved sharing stories of his Damiani aunts and uncles and appreciated their hard work and tenacity.

Mario worked at Western Center in Canonsburg for 40 years. After he retired, he took up dancing where he met his second wife, Jean and they have danced together for many years.

Mario is survived by his ten children Frank (Jean), Sister Sue, Tom (Arllen), Mary (Dave) , Ann, Elizabeth, Paul (Anna), Mike (Gina), Barb, and Dan with his first wife Carole Bowen Fazzini. When he married Jean he gained a bonus daughter Cindy Ross who was welcomed into the family and dad loved her dearly. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mario was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army and received both the WWII Victory Medal and the Occupation Medal. He always maintained a positive outlook on life and emphasized the importance of a strong work ethic, helping others, and the love of La Famiglia.

Mario lived life to the fullest, and had a talent for solving problems by tinkering with things. He was generous and caring, feeding the whole neighborhood with his punch bowl cake and apple oatmeal squares. He even installed a water fountain in his yard for all of the neighbor kids to enjoy on those hot and humid summer days.

The family extends a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Mon Valley Care Center and Gateway Hospice for caring for him so tenderly in his last days.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc, 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where friends will be received on Thursday March 23, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
