Obituary for Charles F. Johnson
Charles Johnson, age 79, of Donora, PA, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born March 10, 1943 in N. Charleroi the son of the late Joseph Johnson and the late Shirley Belles Johnson.
Charles was a 1961 graduate of California Area High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Serving four years as a Jet Aircraft Specialist during Vietnam.
He was employed by Welland Chemical in Newell, PA where he was a panel board operator until his retirement in the early 2000's.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph B. Johnson; and two sisters-in-law, Joann Arrigoni and Joan "Chi Chi" Sberna.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, Rose Sberna Johnson; Two children, Raymond (Terra Brysh) Johnson of Glassport and Dana (Rich) Painter of Carroll Twp.; six grandchildren, Luke, Morgan, Caitlin, Matthew, Jared and Jacob; a brother, Raymond (Sharon) Johnson of Charleroi; a brother-in-law Anthony Sberna; also several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where friends will be received on Saturday February 4, 2023 from 11: AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jude Urso officiating.
Entombment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora PA
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Donora
