Obituary for Susan Stimak (Takach)

Susan Takach Stimak, of Donora went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2022. Born in Donora, PA on October 14, 1924, she was 97 years old and a member of St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church.

Susan was a 1944 graduate of Donora High School and soon after joined the war effort working at U.S. Steel Donora mill open hearth as a hydraulic engineer and then working at Charleroi - Monessen Hospital. She advanced her education and graduated from Franklin School of Nursing as an R.P.N. in 1947.

Susan married May 22, 1948, became a homemaker and after her children were grown restarted her career as a private duty R.P.N.

For many years her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren continued to gather for Saturday Dinners at her and her husband Michael's home; where she proudly displayed photo's of her family and her impressive giraffe collection.

Surviving are her children, Sandra (Herb) Adrian of WV, Michael (Donna) Stimak of Idaho, Sharon Buttermore of N.C.Alan Stimak and Bruce Stimak both of Rostraver Twp.; grandchildren, Michelle and Michael Stimak, Robert Lee and Mallory Poklemba, Luke and Chad Stimak, and Joshua Gardner Stimak; great grandchildren, Mason, Rowan, Jaylon and Jonah; sisters-in-law, Florence Stimak and Margie Dallas; and many nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Diane Kovalik, Eileen Griffin and Joan Brouzakis.

Susan was preceded in death by her loving husband Michael; her parents Andrew and Suzi (Klema) Takach; a sister, Ann Sabol; brothers, John and Thomas; granddaughter, Christine Susan Adrian; and son-in-law Robert Buttermore.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, February 4, 2022. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 5, 2022 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Donora, PA.
