Obituary for Florence S. "Herk" Dermont (Mihalek)
Florence S. "Herk" Dermont, 83, of Bunola, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born in McKeesport on December 6, 1936, a daughter of the late Martin and Mary Morgavich Mihalek.
She was employed for 45 years with US Steel finishing her career as a transportation supervisor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Bruce Jr.; one daughter, Christina Dermont Nagy; and one brother, Martin "Bud" Mihalek, Jr.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband of 36 years, John Dermont; one daughter, Lori (Mike) Pozzuto of Florida; two sons, Justin (Stephenie) Dermont of Monongahela, and Jonathan Dermont and (fiancee Amanda Macfarlane) of Perryopolis; 8 grandchildren, Jeanna, Keith, Logan, Brianna, Zachary, Preston, Owen, and Connor; one great-grandchild, Dakota; a brother, Tom Mihalek of Florida; one sister, Margie (Justin) Wilson of Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
