Obituary for Carol A. Wunderlich

Carol Ann Wunderlich age 80, of Donora, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15th, 2020. Beloved wife of the late David L. Wunderlich of Donora; and daughter of the late Leonard & Anne Stasik of Mt. Washington. Survivorsinclude her four children and their spouses; Dr. James & Joan Wunderlich, Dr. Joseph & Sheila Wunderlich, Thomas Wunderlich, and Melissa & David Lorenzi; loving grandchildren Alexandra & Olivia Wunderlich, Gabriel, Annabelle & Joshua Wunderlich, Marina, Nico & Ava Lorenzi; and a brother Richard Stasik of Carnegie. Carol was originally from Mt. Washington and graduated from St. Justin’s High School. She attended the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing graduating a Registered Nurse. She proudly served her country in the Air Force Reserves. She worked as an RN at Mercy Hospital and Charleroi Hospital, and in private practice, at the Donora office of Demetri Petro, M.D. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren (who affectionately gave her the nickname “Grandma Boo”). She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their many activities and events. Carol was a very kind, caring and compassionate person, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who loved her dearly. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Carroll Township / Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where family and friends will be received on Thursday March 19th, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for the family at 10:00 am on Friday March 20th at St. Andrew The Apostle Catholic Church Donora Campus, Park Road, Donora, PA with the Rev. Fr. Patrick Barkey as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Vladamir Cemetery, Bethel Park.
