Frank Kon, 91, of Donora, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Monongahela Valley Hospital.
Born in Monongahela on October 29, 1928, he was a son of the late Andrew and Carolina Bortynski Kon.
Frank was a Veteran serving in World War II with the United States Army. He was a 1947 graduate of Donora High School and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Donora Campus.
Mr. Kon was a retired crane operator for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Mary, Sophie, Ann, Frances, and Josephine; and 4 brothers, Joseph, Stanley, John, and Tom.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife Patricia (Andrews) Kon; three sons, Patrick T. Kon of Donora, Michael A. (Annette) Kon of Florida, and Daniel S. (Nancy) Kon of Florida; 10 grandchildren, Maria, James, Thomas, Michael, Ben, Elizabeth, Katie, Becky, Jason, and Christian; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second Street Extension, Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, (724) 379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Donora Campus of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish.
Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
