Obituary for Edward Capozza

Edward Capozza, age 93, of Donora, PA, died Sunday, October 27, 2019, at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth in Elizabeth, PA.

He was born June 11, 1926 in Monessen the son of the late Egidio and Frances (Fella) Capozza.

Ed was the owner operator of Frontier Heating. He was a man of many talents who loved woodworking. He built his home and his hunting lodge using his many skills.

He was a muscian having played in many bands including the US Navy and the Continentals where he played the Sax. He performed in many local venues including the Twin Coaches and the Inn America.

Ed was an avid Hunter, Gardener and Wine Maker.

He was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Church.

Ed served his country in WW II serving as a seaman first class in the US Navy.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son, Thomas E. Cappozza on August 7, 2015; a son-in-law Glenn Kinder; three sisters Theresa, Rosie, and Edith; and two brothers, Joseph and Cosmo.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years Pauline (Kurtak) Capozza; two daughters, Marsha Kinder of Donora and Karen (Greg) Oslowski of Carroll Twp.; five grandchildren, April (Kinder) Wisyanski, Kevin Kinder, Chris Oslowski, Jason Oslowski and Antoinette Capozza; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Alberina Perunko of Donora; also many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Thursday October 31, 2019 at 9:30 AM followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Valley Church.

Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, PA.

Full military rites will be accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
