Obituary for Joshua J Fritch

Joshua J Fritch, age 33, of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Donora, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at his home.

Josh was born October 3, 1985 in Monongahela, PA the son of Cassandra (Ruev) Fritch and the late John Michael Fritch.

Josh was a veteran serving with the US Army Infantry 82nd Airborne. He had served tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Josh received the Iraq Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the NATO Medal.

Josh was employed as a Business Representative for Verizon. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and boating. Josh was a true outdoorsman along side Rocky his German Shepherd. He also grew up with a love for football. Josh played in many youth leagues and finally at Ringgold High School. Josh continued sharing his love for football by coaching in a youth football league in the Pittsburgh area.

Josh was preceded in death by his father John Michael Fritch on July 8, 2019.

Survivors include his mother Cassandra (Brad Lehn) Fritch of Delmont; a brother Jacob Fritch of Delmont; maternal grandparents, Fred and Caroline Ruev Jr. of Donora; Paternal grandparents, William and Dedra Fritch of Carroll Twp.; three aunts, Carole (Tony) Butti of Donora, Mary (Joe) Latino of TX, and Michele (Sean) Luciani of Monessen; two uncles, Michael (Margaret) Fritch of Whitehall and William (Linda) Fritch of Maryland; also several cousins.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends on Monday, September 16, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday September 17 at 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Donora at 11:30 AM, with Rev. Fr. John Parker officiating.

Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.

Full military rites will be accorded by the Mon Valley Honor Guard and Firing Squad.
