Eugene Sukel, age 88, of Carroll Twp., PA, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.

Gene was born in Donora on March 6, 1929 the son of the late George and the late Margurite (Criswell) Sukel

He was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora.

In addition to his parents Gene was preceded in death by a daughter Regina Sukel.

Survivors include his wife Rita (Diulus) Sukel; four children, Mark (Robyn Curletti) Sukel of Maui, David (Jayme McDonough) Sukel of Pittsburgh, Rebecca (Jeff) Ruffing of Bentleyville and Patsy Sukel of Carroll Twp; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Sydney, and Spencer Sukel, Cecilia, Jeffrey, Joshua, Jonathan, Jordan and Clare Ruffing; two great grandchildren, Hudson and Isla; a brother, Richard (Joyce) Sukel of New York; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, September 24, 2017. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Valley Church, Donora at 10:30 AM, Monday, September 25, 2017, with Rev. Fr. Pierre M Falkenhan as celebrant. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela, PA
