Anna Mae (Staruch) Dolnack, age 104, of Donora, PA, died unexpectedly Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:16 PM, in Hallsworth House in Monessen, PA with her loving family at her side. She was the last surviving member of the Staruch family.

She was born on November 22, 1912 in Wheeling, West Virginia, later moving to New Sheffield and Slovan PA before coming to Donora. She was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Slifko) Staruch.

She was a life long member of the St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Donora and belonged to its Sacred Heart Society. She had a strong faith in God and demonstrated that faith throughout her lifetime.

She loved sitting on her porch swing as long as the weather permitted. She was an excellent cook and made her perfected beef noodle soup with handmade paper thin noodles and all ethnic food like paska bread for Easter and Halupki and Pierogi's all year round.

As a young women Anna worked in her parents grocery store located on Van Pelt Street in Donora.

Through the years she and her family toured most National Parks and U.S. historic sites in their camper. She loved to crochet afgahns and took ceramic classes for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Andrew (Andy) Dolnack on July 12, 2003; two sisters, Margaret Sewak and Mildred Mosebough; two brothers, John and George Staruch; and two nephews, George and Fred Mosebough.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marian and Robert Riley of Donora; and several nieces including a special loving niece Nancy Sewak who she spoke with everyday.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at which time funeral services will be held with Rev. Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating.

Interment will be at St. Dominic Cemetery, Donora, PA.

The family wishes to thank the owners and entire staff at Hallsworth House for the loving and compassionate care they gave Anna during her 7 month residence there, as well as the OSPTA Hospice Group.
