Mary Louise Tirpak, age 84, of Carroll Twp., PA, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016, at her home.
She was born in Donora on November 9, 1931, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Immaculata (Pulcini) Amatangelo.
She was a lifelong member of the Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora, PA, and the Donora Senior Center.
Mary Louise enjoyed playing cards especially with her card clubs, bingo, bowling and bocce. She also loved to cook and bake and was known for her famous Jewel Cakes.
She worked many years at Valdesari's Beer Distibutor and later at the Rostraver Twp. Shop and Save.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Michael R. (Tippy) Tirpak, two sisters, Rose Lorenzo and Josephine DiSantis; a brother, Ernest Amatangelo and friend John Parola.
Survivors include her children, Michael R. (Donna) Tirpak of Belle Vernon, Nancy Tirpak of Bethel Park, Douglas (Marlene) Tirpak of Donora, Kenneth (Paula) Tirpak of N. Strabane Twp., Daniel (Lisa) Tirpak of Maryland, Karen (Tom) Leonard of Donora and Cheryl (Jody) Vayansky of Carroll Twp.; Grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael R. III, Gordon, Cassie, Samuel, Desmond, Carmella, Meghan, Abbey, Ryan, Bradley, Zachary, Meredith, Julia, Josh, Andrew, Kira Rai, Liam, Matthew and Kaylee; 12 great grandchildren; four sisters, Dolores Forty, Carmella DeSanto, Marlene Perok and Faustina Jakela; two brothers, Robert Amatangelo and Joseph Amatangelo; also many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 www.massafrafuneralhome.com where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday January 27, 2016 at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Valley Church Donora, PA at 10:30 AM with Rev. Fr. James Young as celebrant .
Interment will be at St. Dominic Cemetery, Donora, PA
