Joseph Barna, age 95, of Donora, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Hallsworth House in Monessen, PA.

He was born February 15, 1923 in Donora, PA the son of the late George and Mary Barna.

He was a member of the St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Donora.

Joseph was a veteran of WW II serving with the United States Air Force. He received the American Theater Ribbon, the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the WW II Victory Medal.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jane Villella Barna; a sister, Margaret DeZardo; and two brothers, John and Michael Barna.

Survivors include his son Kenneth R. (Marcia) Barna of Monongahela, PA; and his daughter Nancy (Bernard) Polachek; four grandchildren, Michael (Kim) Barna, Lauren (Ryan) Bowker, Adam Polachek and Emily ( Garrett) Gregory; also two great grandchildren, Rhett and Layla Gregory

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, February 16, 2018. Funeral services will be held at the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc. at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 17, 2018, Rev. Fr. Stephen Wahal and Pastor Mark Schollaert officiating.

Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, PA
