Hugh "Bud" Harrison  Windell
Hugh H. "Bud" Windell, age 94, of Oxford, FL, formerly of Donora, Pa., passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at The Villages Regional Hospital in The Villages, FL.
He was born March 19, 1923 in Morgantown, West Virginia the son of the late Walter Windell and the late Martha (Guthrie) McCormick.
Hugh was a member of the St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Donora.
He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Marine Corps as a Radar Operator. He served two years in the South Pacific from 1943-1945.
Hugh worked 43 years on the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central Railroad and Conrail. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman and sports fan. He was a devoted family man.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years Ann (Kushner) Windell on July 8, 2013.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Quinn of The Villages, FL; a son, Michael “Bud” Windell of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; a daughter, Susan Meek, of The Villages, FL; six grandchildren, Kelly Deister of Tampa, FL, Ashley Wood of Oxford, FL, Jeffery Quinn of Orlando, FL, Maria Windell of Boulder, CO, Bradley Meek of Singapore, Alina Windell of Auburn, AL; five great grandchildren, Kimberly Deister, Alexis and Aven Wood, and Kaleesi and Ben Sproull.
Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where friends will be received on Sunday February 11, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Monday February 12, 2018 at 9:30 AM followed by Funeral Services in St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Donora at 10:00 AM with Rev. Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating.
Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela, PA
