Obituary for John A. Radic

John A.  Radic
John A. “Cookie” Radic, age 89, of Monongahela, PA, died Friday, January 12, 2018, at Residence at Hilltop in Carroll Twp., PA.

He was born June 3, 1928 in Donora the son of the late John Radich and the late Mary (Rauzan) Radich.

John was a lifelong bowler with the Mon Valley Jednota, Hits and Misses, and Penncraft mixed couples league; also he was an avid golfer on the Donora Elks League.

He was a member of the St. Damien of Molakai Parish in Monongahela, PA, the Donora Elks and the American Croation Club in Donora

John was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy where he received the WWII Victory Medal.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Nye) Radic on May 25, 2012; a son John Radic; two sisters, Bertha Malays and Margaret Panutsos; and four brothers, Matthew, George, Joseph and Thomas Radic.

Survivors include his two daughters, Sue (Dennis) Profili of MD and Jayne Ann (Robert) Robbins of TX; four grandchildren, Jon (Jenny) Profili, Tim Profili, Bob (Jill) Robbins and Jill (Kevin) Rush; five great grandchildren, Declan and Riele Profili, Brandon and Adelyn Robbins and Kylie Rush; a brother, Nick Radic of Donora; two sisters-in-law, Patti Radic and Valarie Nye; also several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Thursday January 18, 2018 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Damien of Molokai Parish at 10:00 AM with Rev. Fr. George Chortos as celebrant.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Damien of Molokai Parish, 722 W. Main Street, Monongahela, PA 15063
