Thomas Stablein, age 72, of Donora, PA, died Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Manor Care Health Services Whitehall in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born April 6, 1945 in N. Charleroi the son of the late George and Elsie (Smith) Stablein.

Thomas retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Allenport after 33 years of service as a machinist. After retirement he worked for A 1 Babbitt & Machine in Donora.

Thomas was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora and the Belgian Club of Charleroi. He enjoyed fishing especially at his summer retreat in Confluence and deep sea fishing while visiting his children in Florida. He was especially fond of the Key West area and their delicious oysters. An avid football fan Thomas loved to watch the Steelers and college football.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, George T. and Robert E. Stablein.

Survivors include his wife Marcia (Grygiel) Stablein; four children, Thomas P. (Sommer) Stablein of Tampa Florida, Kristin Stablein (Donna Lavalle) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Mary Stablein Lawson of Miami, Florida and Audra (Thomas) Barbao of Donora; seven grandchildren, Marlena, Ethan, Sydni, Brooke, Palmer, Sommer and Sawyer; a sister, Margaret (Daryl) Holler of Reading, PA; and a brother Lynn (Eileen) Stablein of Pleasant Hills, PA; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, October 8, 2017. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Monday October 9, 2017 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Valley Church at 10:00 AM with Rev. Fr. Pierre M Falkenhan as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, PA
