Ronald R.  Luci
Ronald R. Luci, 66, of Monessen, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at home, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with colon cancer. A son of the late Philip Luci, Sr. and Mary Cicconi Luci, he was born on July 26, 1951, in New Eagle. Ron served his country with the Army and Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant from the Air Force, and later became the Chief of Staff for the 49th District of the PA State House of Representatives. Ron was involved in his community with numerous organizations. He was the Chairman of Contracting Out for United Steel Workers Local 1557, served on the Donora Borough Council, Mon Valley Sewage Authority, was Chairman of the Washington County Democratic Committee, was the commander of the American Legion Post 212, and he developed and implemented the Diversity Initiative for the 171st Logistics Readiness Squadron for the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Ron was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monongahela. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathy L. Luci; two sons, Jason Luci of Donora, Jarrod Lape and his wife Jodi of Carroll Township; a step-daughter, Amy Williams of Salisbury, MD.; five granddaughters, Alexis Lape of Pittsburgh, Ashley and Annika Williams of Monessen, Ryann and Reese Lape of Carroll Township, and; a sister, Diane K. Luci of Germantown, MD; a brother, Philip Luci, Jr. and his wife Pam of Vienna, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, William Hines Jr. and his wife Kim of Raymond, ME, Barbara Westfall and her husband Clarence of Lawrenceville, GA, and Beth Williams of Lawrenceville, GA; seven nieces and nephews, Vincent Luci, Jessica Busche, , Matthew Hines, Andrew Hines, Dillon Williams, Erin Williams, and Dominique Marcus. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Richard Hines. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. in the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033, (724) 379-6900 www.massafrafuneralhome.com A funeral service will be held on Tuesday in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m., with Rev. Alan Morrison officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
