Roberta Ann Lorenzo, age 70, of Monongahela, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017, after a long illness, in Thorpes Personal Care Home in Charleroi, PA. A daughter of Arthur E. Sewell and the late Nancy D’Emidio Sewell, she was born in North Charleroi on November 22, 1946. Roberta was a speech and hearing therapist for the Intermediate Unit 1, working as an educator in many school districts throughout Washington County. Roberta served her community by doing charity work for Habitat for Humanity and Red Cross Relief organizations. She also raised money to benefit members of the hard of hearing and deaf community, helping to purchase hearing ear dogs, cochlear implants, and other speech and hearing related items. As well as her passion for philanthropy, she was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Catholic Church in Monongahela. In addition to her father, Arthur Sewell of Donora, she is survived by her husband of 50 years, Richard C. Lorenzo, Sr.; her four children, Laura Chabrier and her husband Gene of McMurray, Lisa Donina and her husband Pete of McMurray, Richard C. Lorenzo, Jr. and his wife Kerry of Richalnd, WA, and Matthew Lorenzo and his wife Holly of Somerset; her eight grandchildren, Abigail Donina, Madison Chabrier, Nathan Donina, Jacob Chabrier, Isabella Lorenzo, Sofia Lorenzo, Max Lorenzo, and Violet Lorenzo; her two sisters, Marie Hollingsworth and her husband Steve or Yorktown, VA, and Janet Hollis and her husband Martin of Donora; a sister-in-law, Susan Arleth and her husband Warren of California, PA; as well as her many nieces and nephews.
