Anthony (Tony) Trona, 87 of Canonsburg, formerly of Donora, died August 18, 2017 in Canonsburg Hospital. Born February 3, 1930 in Donora, he was the son of the late Cosimo and Antoinetta Trona. Tony was a 1950 graduate of Donora High School. After high school, Tony was employed at US Steel Donora Works and retired from Edgar Thompson Works after 42 years of service. Tony was an active member of Our Lady of the Valley Church and was honored as Holy Name Man of the Year.
On May 11, 1957, he married the love of his life, Vera (Soroka) Trona who survives. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children, Anthony (Carol) and Marlene (Vince) Marsico and his beloved grandchildren, Philip and Mario Trona, along with many loving and devoted nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Leona Mucci, Joseph Trona, Martha Lorenzo, Albert Trona and Mary Jane Barone and is the last of his immediate family members.


Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, August 20, 2017. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Monday August 21, 2017 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Valley Church at 10:00 AM with Rev. Fr. Pierre M Falkenhan as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, PA
