Obituary for Celia "Cil" Amatangelo (Cavicchio)

Celia "Cil" Amatangelo (Cavicchio)
The loving and gentle heart of Celia “Cil” Amatangelo came to rest on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
She was born in Erie, PA on November 21, 1921 and was the last remaining child of Pietro and Pasqua Cavicchio. She was married for 55 years to her childhood sweetheart Ernest E. Amatangelo on June 15, 1946 and moved to Donora, PA. During her long life, Cil was a devoted wife and mother who worked tirelessly beside her husband at their businesses. She went on to be a cook at Meals on Wheels where she happily prepared meals for the sick and elderly for 10 years. Cil’s life was an example of charity and helping those in need. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul, Donora Elementary, the local food bank and making and sewing the alter cloth pieces for Our Lady of The Valley. Always in her heart were here late husband Ernest and surviving children: Paul (Cecilia), Marietta, Celeste (Neal), and Mark. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Cathy, Karen (Jon), Christopher, Jon, Natalina, Jacob, Elena and great-grandchildren, Ben, Max, Ethan, Gabby, and Annie. She will be missed by her brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and many nieces, nephews, and friends. "Tutto il Cuore". Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home, 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Thursday March 23, 2017 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Valley Church at 10:00 AM, with Rev. Fr. Pierre Falkenhan as celebrant.
