Obituary for Lillian "Betty" Duda (Bisacky)

Lillian "Betty"  Duda (Bisacky)
Lillian "Betty" Duda, age 86, of Donora, PA, died Monday, January 16, 2017, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

She was born November 24, 1930 in Donora, PA the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Emma (Amati) Bisacky.

Betty was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora, its choir and Christian Mothers and Ladies Guild, the Catholic Daughters of America and she was a Democratic Committee Woman for many years. She was best known for being crowned Donora's Golden Jubilee Queen in 1952.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus R. Duda on January 10, 2007; a daughter-in-law, Janet Duda; a sister, Geraldine Bisacky; and two brothers, Frank and Joseph Bisacky.

Survivors include her two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (William) Tis of Verona and Maureen (Leighton II) Smith of N. Strabane; a son, Thaddeus R. Duda Jr.; five grandchildren, Patrick Duda, Matthew (Tina) Tis, Jennifer (Zachary) Mihok, Alexandria Smith, and Leighton Smith III; two great grandchildren, Lillian Grace and Mabel Joy; her Goddaughter, Katherine Fronzaglio; also several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 26, 2017. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Friday January 27, 2017 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Valley Church at 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora, PA
