Anthony J  Haller
Anthony "Tony" J Haller, age 86, of Carroll Twp., PA, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born in Donora in 1929 the son of the late Sam and Barbara (Spehar) Haller.

Tony was a lifetime resident of the Mon Valley area and was an active member of the Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora and could often be found volunteering around the church buildings and cemetery. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Air Force as a flight mechanic and electrician with the 28th Air Rescue Squadron based at Ramey AFB, Puerto Rico. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Nicholas Haller.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dorothy (Petrick) Haller;daughters, Rose Marie Patterson of TX, Joanne Hasskamp of Jefferson Hills, and Diane Francis of Bridgeville; a son, Dave Haller of New York; five grandchildren, Amanda and Laura Patterson, Jessica and Emily Francis and Eric Haller; siblings, Kathryn, John and Joe Haller, and also several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900 where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday, May 9, 2016. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday May 10, 2016 at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Donora, with Rev. Fr. Pierre M Falkenhan as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Twp., PA

A rosary will be recited on Monday at 3:00 pm in the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Boys Town, 200 Flanagan Blvd., P.O. Box 6000, Boystown, NE 68010-9988 or Our Lady of the Valley Church.
